Soda Tasting Slideshow
We went over to Dwayne & Brook's house the other night, bringing a six-pack of sodas we bought at Pops in Arcadia, Oklahoma, for a soda tasting party.  "Brain Wash" just about did us in with its Jalapeno ingredient.  It was a lot of fun.  The slideshow only has nine pictures.  Enjoy!

Entry 738

Camden's Baseball Game Slideshow
Our grandson, Camden, loves baseball.  He has been playing little league baseball for quite some time.  We went to one of this games last Sunday.  His team won, and he was a big part of the win.  This is a slideshow with twenty-four pictures from that game.  Enjoy!

Entry 737

Gatesville to Houston Slideshow
We traveled from Gatesville, Texas to Houston, Texas on the 23rd.  It was pretty uneventful.  However, we take pictures of water towers.  I'm not really sure why, but we do.  So, this very short slideshow has water towers and the Houston skyline.  It was good to get through the heavy traffic to our RV park in League City.  And, it was really good to see our family.  Enjoy the slideshow!

Oklahoma Slideshow
This is a slideshow of a few places close to Meeker, Oklahoma that we thought were neat.  Pops is a place with the largest variety of soda I have ever seen, and the food was great, too!  The log house belongs to our host and hostess, Leroy and Andree.  They have their own little piece of paradise.  It's a short slideshow, so enjoy!

Deadwood Slideshow
We took a drive to Deadwood today after taking care of some business in Rapid City.  What a quaint little town this is!  Las Vegas has nothing on Deadwood when it comes to gambling.  There are casinos all over the place.  Many are cleverly disguised as historic buildings.  Well, maybe not so much disguised as using historic buildings, which makes it even better.  The slideshow is only fifty pictures, and a lot of fun.  Enjoy!

Entry 730

Devils Tower to Lead Slideshow
We took to the road today, visiting Devils Tower, Sundance, Spearfish Canyon, Roughlock Falls, and Lead.  It was really a great day!  There are 157 pictures in the slideshow, and most of them are just fantastic.  Enjoy!

Hill City, Deerfield, and Sturgis Slideshow
We took another day trip today, visiting Hill City, Deerfield, and Sturgis.  Lots of fun and good sights.  We found ourselves praying we would get to a gas station at one point.  Miss Garmin came in handy, and we made it back to Hill City and a Conoco station.  This slideshow is considerably smaller than the last one.  It's only 62 pictures.  Enjoy!

Entry 728

Badlands Slideshow
We took a day trip on Friday to the Badlands.  We had low expectations, however, we were pleasantly surprised!  What a beautiful national park!  The slideshow is 181 pictures, but it is definitely worth your time.  Enjoy!

White Sulphur Springs Slideshow
This is the last sunset we are going to see while in Montana this year.  Over the past few days we have ridden our bikes into town for various reasons; ie, haircut, post office, and sight-seeing.  The castle was built in 1892 and is now a museum.  Other than that, the main attraction for White Sulphur Springs is the hot springs, which is now a hotel.  The slideshow only has nineteen pictures in it, and it is just some of the local sights and our last sunset, pre-storm and post-storm.  Enjoy!

I know I haven't made a post in awhile, but I have been busy relaxing...lol.  Life here in Montana slows down.  There isn't a lot of excitement, but there is a lot of serenity.  We had a good worship on Sunday, followed by lunch with a group from the congregation, who happened to be fellow campers.  Our excitement came when our neighbor's little 13 year-old autistic grandchild was missing after dark.  Thankfully, I found her in another camper's trailer and led her back to her grand-parents.  Needless to say, she was in big time trouble.  I have been spending quite a bit of time turning wood.  I have made a number of pens and pencils, as well as, a small ironwood bowl.  The following pictures are from tonight's sunset.  Just another beautiful Montana sunset!

Sunrise to Great Falls to Sunset Slideshow
We got up extra early this morning to witness the sunrise.  It was beautiful!  We then drove to Great Falls with every intention of trading our car in.  However, when we arrive our transmission went out.  So, now we need to get it rebuilt before we can trade it in.  None the less, we had a beautiful drive, followed by another beautiful sunset.  Enjoy the slideshow!

We took an off-road trip in our friend, Deacon's, Jeep today to the top of Baldy Mountain.  We saw Gypsy Lake along the way and ended up in Townsend for dinner.  I drove the Jeep back to White Sulphur Springs and as we got back into town we saw this really old Cadillac.  It was a really great day!

Missoula to White Sulphur Springs Slideshow

We had a really nice trip over the last two days, in spite of my being a little sick and our car having problems.  We spent last night in a Walmart parking lot in Missoula, Montana with about fifty other RVs!  Tonight we are in the campground that will be home for the next two weeks, Conestoga Campground in White Sulphur Springs, Montana.  Gordon and Sally Stewart, the park owners, are two very fine Christian people.  We look forward to seeing them every year.  You can check out their website at http://www.ccmemberships.com/  Enjoy the slideshows!

Went to the Memorial service for David Ashford, Patty Goodin's son.  After that we spent the afternoon with the Kildays -- a movie, Captain America, and dinner at Chili's.  And our TV saga continues, while we hope they just replace it.  Hopefully, we will find out in the next few days.

I was sick this morning, but Una went to church.  After church I was able to join the group for lunch.  Then this evening we had good fellowship and study at the Rowe's, followed by Larry treating the whole group to ice cream at Superior Dairy in Hanford!  Yummm.

My cousin, Rick, met us in Fresno on his way home from Temecula where he has been aiding firefighters.  Shannon and Stephen came to the restaurant too.  It was the first time Shannon had met Rick.  We had a good visit.

Entry 708

We enjoyed another great outing with the Kildays.  We saw Cowboys & Aliens, and then went to dinner at Marie Callendars, followed with a visit in their home.  We have sure grown close to this older couple.

We had a good visit with our 93 year old Nita, and dinner with our son-in-law, Stephen.  It was a good day!

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Entry 706

Our TV saga continues.  However, we will probably either have a repaired TV or a new one by Tuesday of next week.  Then we can get back on the road.  The most notable activity of this day was dinner with the Kildays, followed by a visit at their house and a viewing of what he calls moon flowers.  It is a weed that blooms very delicate yellow flowers when it gets dark outside.  There is a moth that then comes around and pollinates them.  We had never seen anything like it.  You can actually watch the flowers bloom!

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Entry 705

Well, we started out excited because we thought our TV was gonna get fixed today, but it had to go to the shop.  Might be two weeks or more.  Bummer!  TV aside, we had a reasonably good day.

Monday, July 25, 2011

Entry 704

We went to see Harry Potter with friends from church and then had dinner with the Kildays.  It was a good day!

Entry 703

I am going to stop calling the entry "day" because I think I lost count, and I sometimes miss a day, like yesterday.  Well, yesterday we wore ourselves out by taking everything out of our storage compartments, going through all the containers, and reorganizing.  Wow!  We have a lot more space now!

Today was another good day of worship, fellowship, and study.  A very uplifting day!

Day 702

Santa Cruz Slideshow
Well, as I said yesterday, we had a really good time with the grandkids yesterday.  We spent the night at our daughter's house and another day with the family.  It will probably be the last time we see the kids until after Christmas, so it was a little hard to leave tonight.  However, it was a good day today, with a lot of fun and games.  Enjoy the slideshow!  The last few pictures are from lunch today at the Bulldog Grill.

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Day 701

Took the grandkids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk today.  Got back late and I'm bushed, so I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Day 700

I spent the day at the park, mostly hosting a neighbor who was locked out of his rig while his wife was off somewhere he didn't know.  Una babysat the grandkids.  And this evening we had dinner with the Ashfords.  Just a typical day stuck in Visalia.  Man, am I ready to get back on the road!

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Day 699

Went to my wood turning class today and learned quite a bit.  Had our transmission serviced.  Unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem we have.  Not sure what we're going to do about it.  The parts have been ordered for our TV.  However, we will probably be here a week longer than planned because of the repairs.  Oh well.

Monday, July 18, 2011

Day 698

Today was a mixed-emotion day.  We had a good time with friends at the movies and at fun and fellowship.  However, we received bad news on our car.  The dealer said we need a new transmission at a cost of $5,200!  I'm not ready to buy it just yet.  We will get another opinion.  Have a blessed night!

Sunday, July 17, 2011

Day 697

It is so wonderful to have sweet fellowship!  We have had a day filled with just such as that with our wonderful church family.  We heard a great sermon from Larry Goodin this morning, followed with lunch at Applebee's with seven others from church.  This afternoon I made another pen while Una shopped and planned for the group gathering this evening.  We picked up the Kilday's and brought them to the study and back home.  It's truly going to be tough leaving this area, because we are getting so close to these people.

Saturday, July 16, 2011

Day 696

Well, I tried to take our car in for a transmission service at a garage I called yesterday.  However, they never opened up.  So, I enjoyed a good breakfast with a couple of friends, came home and made pens.  Una and I had dinner with another friend that we haven't seen for quite a while.  It was good!

Friday, July 15, 2011

Day 695

We have had a good day.  I was able to fix our door, and we enjoyed a good movie, The Zookeeper, with friends and our grandson.  I was also able to make some pens.  All-in-all, a blessed day!

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Day 694

Another day with Ethan.  It was really good until this evening when we tried to shut the door on our rig and it wouldn't.  Seems like we have something going wrong each day...: (

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Day 693

We spent the day taking care of our sweet grandson, Ethan.  He is a real joy to our lives!

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Day 692

A good day for turning.  After my wood-turning class I came home and did some more.  However, our television died...the silver lining?  We have an extended warranty!  I also took our car to the Toyota dealership and the mechanic was able to hear what it does.  I hope they can get it fixed next week.  This evening we had a good time with our friends, Roy & Rose Wells.

Monday, July 11, 2011

Day 691

We had a good day, starting with the senior breakfast, and ending with me making a pen in the dark : )

Sunday, July 10, 2011

Day 690

We had another wonderful day of worship, study, and fellowship.  I had a really good visit with my brother this afternoon.  This evening our small group met at our park in the clubhouse and we celebrated our oldest member's birthday.  Warren Kilday turned 82 today!

Saturday, July 9, 2011

Day 689

Una took this picture of me beside Jay & Joyce Lockridge's '57 Chevy.  We were there to celebrate their fiftieth anniversary!  It is an awesome thing to behold a couple who have given themselves, their family, and their marriage to God.  It was also good to visit with a lot of folks we haven't seen in a long time.

Friday, July 8, 2011

Day 688

We started our day at three am.  Our dear friends, the Kildays, called because she had to go to emergency.  So, we spent the next several hours with them.  Praise God that it turned out to be a minor issue.  Una went on to spend most of the rest of the day in Fresno taking care of the grandkids.  This evening was steak night at the lodge...mmm...good!

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Day 687

I spent some time on my lathe today making a cup and an oak pen.  We had a good visit with our 93 year old friend today and then spent some time with Kathy at the Elks Lodge.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Day 686

We had a great day with the grandkids.  After seeing Cars 2, we went to Rite-Aid for a Thrify's Ice Cream cone.  I then went to praise team practice.

Day 682 & 683

Yesterday we went to the coast and spent the day with  friends.  We got home too late to blog.  Today was another wonderful day of worship, fellowship, and Bible study!

Friday, July 1, 2011

Day 681

We had another relaxing day.  Went to see a movie (Larry Crowne) with our friends, the Kildays, and then to dinner and their house for a nice visit.

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Day 680

Day two of our MiFi saga.  After taking the new unit back to the store and getting it fixed, it quit working again after just a few hours of use.  Frustrated, we took it back to the store and demanded our money back.  Believe it or not, Verizon was going to charge us a restocking fee...not!  We were able to get the manager to wave the fee, but I still wrote corporate about a bad policy.  Other than that, we had a wonderful day!

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Day 679

What a beautiful day we have had!  The high was 79 with gentle breezes.  We upgraded our MiFi today and the new was defective.  So, we are back on the old one and will take the new one back tomorrow and trade it for another one.  Ahh...technology, what fun!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Day 678

A day spent mostly relaxing.  After visiting a lady in the hospital, and dinner, we witnessed this awesome sky!

Monday, June 27, 2011

Day 677

Today was largely a day to take care of business.  I sold a few things on eBay and we had to mail them.  However, it was not all work and no play -- we enjoyed Fun & Fellowship at the church building.  That is always fun!

Sunday, June 26, 2011

Day 676

We had another good day of worship and fellowship.  This afternoon the Pratts came over with their three cute little boys.  Mark repaired the tile on our kitchen floor.  We had a really nice time with their family.

Saturday, June 25, 2011

Day 675

Our hitchhiker is getting braver.  She's letting me get closer.  We took the Kildays with us to visit Neda today, and wish her a happy birthday.  She will be 93 tomorrow!

Friday, June 24, 2011

Day 674

Una had a really wonderful time with the grandkids today, while I stayed at home making pencils and other stuff.  When she got home we went to the grand finale of our church's VBS.  Another good day in the Lord!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Day 673

Una spent the day with the grandkids and I spent the day around the park getting acquainted with neighbors.  All-in-all, a good day!

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Days 670 -- 672

Yosemite Day Trip Slideshow
We had a really great day at Yosemite Monday.  We got home too late for me to blog.  Then on Tuesday I went to the wood-turning class, and Una and I got busy.  So, once again, I didn't get a chance to blog.  Today we went to Fresno and spent the day with the grandkids.  I am finally getting a chance to blog.  Enjoy the slideshow!

Sunday, June 19, 2011

Day 669

We had a great worship, study, and fellowship.  Then we met up with our daughter, Shannon, and her husband, Stephen, to celebrate Father's Day.  Spent the remainder of the day at home, Wii bowling and a movie, The Sons of Katie Elder.  A really good day!

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Day 668

Turned pens and pencils today, completing two sets.  I then listed them on eBay.  Una and I spent the rest of the day relaxing.  We did go out to eat at Red Lobster.  Saw a sight I haven't seen before.  An older man was sitting in a booth by himself, eating his meal, with an 8x10 framed photograph of his wife.  We all grieve in different ways.
