Day 284

What a wonderful day!  We started out with a great worship service, followed by lunch and fellowship with a nice group from church.  After a little shopping we spent some time with our dear friends, the Kildays.  We the met up with Stephen, Shannon & the kiddos and went to the Branscoms for their annual Memorial Day picnic and devotional.  We are now spending the night at Shannon's so we can all go to June's (my stepmother) house in Sacramento tomorrow.  Good times!

Day 281

Well, we took the RV to Camping World for a new day/night shade in the kitchen.  On the way back to Visalia the RV quit running.  Good Sam Emergency Road Service sent a tow truck.  It took four hours to get towed to the repair center.  Hopefully they will get it repaired tomorrow.

Just another wonderful day in California.  The only thing of note was praise team practice.

Day 279

Nothing great today.  Had a wonderful dinner at Olive Garden and followed that up with a DVD (It's Complicated).

Monday, May 24, 2010

Day 278

Another relaxing day.  The high point was fun & fellowship at the church.  And, then of course, the final episode of 24.  Can life go on?  LOL!

Day 277

We have had a wonderful day of worship, fellowship and study!

Day 276

We have had a good day.  Got back home from Chukchansi, put the truck on the road for sale, and now we are watching a movie.  However, the big news of the day is that Stephen has asked Shannon to marry him.

Friday, May 21, 2010

Day 275

A good day.  We went to Chukchansi to see Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits.  It was a really great concert.  I had no idea that he was such a good comedian.  I met both his back up guitarists off stage, going and coming from our room.

Day 274

Another vertigo day...ugh.  Una is a trooper.  She got a lot of business done today while I spent most of the day in bed.  I hope tomorrow is better.

Day 273

We had a relaxing day around the RV.  This afternoon we had dinner with our daughter, kids, and Stephen.  Following dinner Stephen came by our place.  Terry Ashford was there working on our generator.  It was fairly obvious to me that Stephen wanted to talk.  We went to the gas station together and he talked, telling me that he wants to marry Shannon.  We don't know when this is going to be possible, financially, but Una and I both think he will make a fine son-in-law.  BTW, Terry got our generator fixed.  It seems that someone switched out the gas in our gas can with water.  Funny, but the generator wouldn't run on water.  Imagine that!

Day 272

Another vertigo day.  However, we topped the day off with good friends.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Day 271

Another vertigo day...ugh.  Of course, it is also another House, 24, and Castle day.  Yay!

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Day 270

Following a good worship our friends Terry & Stephanie took us to lunch at Chukchansi.  We got a room and spent the rest of the day here.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Day 269

After Town & Country Car Wash got done with our truck it looked so good I didn't want to sell it...lol.  We have had another relaxing day.  Went to church for family fun night and back home to read and relax.

Friday, May 14, 2010

Day 268

Getting the truck ready for sale.  The highlight of the day was watching This Is It.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Day 267

After leaving Chukchansi we went to Shannon's to babysit our sick Ashley while Shannon was subbing.  An hour in the storage shed yielded some improvement.  Dinner at California Pizza Kitchen...mmmm...good!

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Day 266

Not much to say about today.  We picked up our new glasses and are enjoying a night at Chukchansi.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Day 265

Just another relaxing day in the neighborhood.  We enjoyed watching The Blind Side on our 40" Sony (this is Una's contribution) and we had a nice visit with the Kildays.

Monday, May 10, 2010

Day 264

We took our car to get fitted for towing.  Dish Network sent an installer out who couldn't do the job.  We had a good time at fun & fellowship at the church.  Just another day in the life!

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Day 263

Following a wonderful Mother's Day worship service, I took my children's mother to lunch at Tahoe Joes.  We then went to Fresno and enjoyed time with Shannon, Stephen and the kids, as well as another fine dining experience at a Japanese Tappen restaurant.

Saturday, May 8, 2010

Day 262

Well, Pepperdine behind us, we made it back to Visalia.  Now we look forward to worship tomorrow and then spending the remainder of the day with our family in Fresno.  Good times!

Friday, May 7, 2010

Day 261

Una was well today.  We enjoyed the final installment of Rubel Shelley's series, and then went to a very interesting keynote lecture "To An Unknown God" by Mladen Jovanovic of Zagreb, Croatia.  Our dear friends, Warren & Helen Kilday to us to lunch for Una's birthday, and then we had a quiet afternoon at the RV.  We enjoyed dinner at the dining hall and then went to final keynote "They Prayed for Daylight" by David Fleer.  Following this we went for pie & coffee in the dining hall where Una was regaled with a roaring rendition of Happy Birthday, led by Rick Thompson.  It has truly been a blessed week!

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Day 260

Day three of the Pepperdine Lectureships and Una has spent the day in bed sick.  I have went to a few of the lectures, but have tried to remain close to home for her.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Day 259

Day two of the Pepperdine Lectureships and boy what a day!  We started out the day with Rubel Shelly speaking on the topic "I Knew Jesus Before He Was a Christian (And I liked Him better then)", followed by Mark Love "But God Raised Him Up", then lunch, followed by a wonderful concert by Psalom, a group from Russia, then Glenn & Regina Newton "The Mystery of Oneness."  After dinner we enjoyed another time of praise with Ken Young & Hallel, followed with a sermon (The Song of Revolution) by Jonathan Storment, topping off the day with Brian Simmons part two of Men & Women Communicate Differently!  We are exhausted, but in a very good way.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Day 258

Well, we made it to Pepperdine and have had a good first day reconnecting with brothers and sisters in the Lord.  It is good to see Dan & Toni Miller, along with her mother, Flo.  The last time we saw them was in Texas.  We were sad to find out from Jack McKenzie, that his wife, Birt, died last year.  She was a colleague of mine when I taught in Chowchilla.  We enjoyed a wonderful time of praise with Ken Young and Hallal, followed by an inspirational sermon from Shon Smith entitled "Can I Get a Witness?"  We enjoyed pie and coffee and then went to a class taught by Brian Simmons on male/female communications.  A full evening!

Monday, May 3, 2010

Day 257

Una enjoyed the Senior Breakfast while I worked on getting my head and stomach to quit swirling.  We both went to the eye doctor and have new glasses on order.  Our motorhome received a much needed wash and wax.  And we started our trip to Pepperdine, stopping at a Flying J on the Grapevine for a night's sleep.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Day 256

A wonderful day of worship and fellowship, followed by a great time at Shannon's house celebrating our birthdays.  Our kids are simply the best!

Saturday, May 1, 2010

Day 255

We had a wonderful day on this my 61st birthday.  The Bennetts bought us breakfast at Valhallas, we enjoyed lunch at Yukon Jacks, and I got my free grand slam at Dennys.  Other than food, we watched a master craftsman install shelving and our 40 inch Sony in our motorhome.  The only down side is our having to pay a hundred more than we planned.
