Day 17

Not much to report today.  We've just been checking on insurance and registration fees.

Day 16

Home sweet home...at least for a month or so.  We had a good worship today and enjoyed lunch with our family.  We aren't sure how long we will be here, but the park is clean and close to all essentials.

Day 15

We began our day going to Curtis & Juliette's house to watch their kids and our grandkids, along with a few others, act out a script on baby Moses while Curtis recorded it with his HD camcorder -- very cute.  Tried to hook up our DirecTV satellite today.  After many frustrating hours and phone calls I have decided to get rid of DirecTV.  On a brighter note, Dwayne and Camden joined me to watch the 49er/Cowboys game.  I had to get it over the internet and hook up my laptop to the television, but it worked out great.  And for a bonus, the niners won!  Camden is spending the night with us in the 5th wheel.  Now we need to plan out two more nights for our other two darlings.  Aren't grandkids just great?!

Day 14

We are now in Marina Bay RV Resort for the next month.  It's a beautiful are near Kemah.  However, our granddaughter reminded us that this month is hurricane season.  We will be ready for a hasty retreat if necessary.

Day 13

Hooray!  We made it to Houston!  We will spend the night with Dwayne & Brook and find a RV park tomorrow.  It was good to have an uneventful day.

Day 12

We finally made it out of Childress only to be down again less than 100 miles down the road with a shredded tire (the only way tires go flat on a travel trailer).  God sent an angel of mercy to help us change it.  We are now comfortably situated in an RV park in Wichita Falls.  First thing tomorrow morning we hit a tire shop and get new tires.

Day 11

Having spent the day in Childress we are now staying in a motel, hoping that our rig will be repaired tomorrow.

Day 10

Welcome to the travels and travails of the Keens!  We are still in the Texas panhandle as I write this.  Our rig broke down just outside of Childress -- we lost a wheel bearing.  We contacted Good Sam Emergency Road Service and they sent Bill's Truck Service out to tow us back to their garage at 8:30 in the evening.  They were kind enough to hook us up to electricity so we can stay in the 5th wheel.  However, when we went to put out the slide it caught on one side and now we have another problem; the slide out is broken.  Such is life.  We look forward to a brighter tomorrow.

Day 8

After driving in the rain all day we have arrived in Gallup, New Mexico.  Looking forward to good night sleep.

These are some of the many vistas Arizona has to offer (the last one is entering New Mexico).

Day 7

Visiting with friends today. Dona, Travis, Valerie and Sebastion (saw the movie "Shorts") came to the rig and had lunch with us at Joe's Crab Shack. This evening was spent with Ron & Sue. Had dinner at a seafood buffet. Can we say full?

Day 6

We finally made it out of California! Laughlin, Nevada will be home for the next couple of days. Ray and Freda were wonderful hosts and we have been invited back to their "campground" anytime.

Day 5

This evening Una is just glad that we are no longer homeless. A local RV service center took our rig in and fixed the hot water heater leak and had us back in our home by this afternoon. We took care of two doctor appointments today, with one to come tomorrow. Being so grateful for the hospitality offered by Ray and Freda, along with the wonderful fellowship, parting will be sorrowful tomorrow. However, we look forward to returning to our great Christian family in Visalia.

Day 4

Well, today brought a challenge. We have a severe water leak in the plumbing. I am hoping to have it repaired tomorrow. In the meantime our angels of mercy, Ray & Freda, have been taking care of us by opening up their house for showers and restroom privileges.

Day 3

Had to take care of our storage shed today. Unloaded by our dear daughter, moved, built a platform, moved back on, reloaded...whew! We get 'er done! We are now awaiting our car. It is undergoing a warranty repair. The McCartys place is just lovely. We feel as though we are already enjoying a great campground.

Day 2

We had a blessed worship with our Visalia church family, the last before we make our way to Texas. Our daughter, Shannon, cooked us a fine farewell meal this evening. We are hoping for a good nights rest so as to face the morrow's challenges. God bless!

Day 1

Well, we began by traveling to Ray and Freda McCarty's home where we will be staying until Thursday. After setup we went to our daughter's home to put some more stuff in storage, and then on to Coarsegold for a Boyz II Men concert. What a day!
