As we begin a new chapter in our lives some have asked that we begin a blog to keep interested ones informed of our whereabouts and activities. As the time to actually take off approached our seven-year-old grandson told us to have a good time on our adventure. Thus, our title "The Great Keen Adventure" was born. As you peruse the site it is our hope that you will be blessed with what we have to share and where we have been. God bless you!

Day 530
A day to take care of business. Started on our taxes...ugh. It's hard to believe that one can be retired on a disability and still get hit up for income taxes from Uncle Sam. Oh, well, life is still good. I refuse to let them take that away from me!

Day 529
We had a good worship today, followed by an excellent lunch. The rest of the day we relaxed and watched Letters to God tonight. Too close to home for me.

Day 527
We had another relaxing day in the desert. Walked around Palm Springs a little bit, saw some of the stars on the walk. Plan on going back tomorrow.

Day 526
This is a chopped down Honda. The people actually take the top off and put it in the basement of their bus.
A view from our campsite. We are surrounded by desert mountains.
Our campsite. We flooded the other side last night because our hose broke.
Another mountain view.
Our campsite from the rear.
Una got this great picture of a road runner.
We are enjoying the Palm Springs area a lot. It has been very relaxing. The weather is great!

Day 524
We finally made it out of the valley. Our home for the next week is in Cathedral City. It was an uneventful trip. Una did an awesome job driving.

Day 523
We left Fresno for Cathedral City today only to make it to a service center near Selma, ten miles south of Fresno, for a repair to our transmission pump system. On the brighter side, it meant we could make it to Fun and Fellowship at the church. We will try again tomorrow.

Day 521
Had just enough sunshine today to get what I needed to get done outside. The motorhome is now ready to roll. Shannon & Stephen gave us a gift card for Tahoe Joes. Oh my goodness! I had the most wonderful T-Bone steak. Definitely, a great day!

Day 520
It has been a good day. We had lunch with an old colleague of mine and then went to Tulare. I bought a new bathrobe to replace the torn won I have been using for quite some time. Una finally went to the doctor for the cold/sinus infection that has been dogging her for weeks. While we were getting the prescription we had our tires rotated. As I went to pick up the car I ran into a wonderful couple from our church, the Kildays, and we went to dinner with them. And then Una topped the day off with a visit to See's Candies and Hallmark. A very full day for us!

Days 517 - 519
I have been lax. Life has been slowly passing me by while the gloomy weather persisted. However, the sun came out today! We have just been taking care of business, like beginning the process of changing our state of residence to South Dakota. First step is getting a mailbox. We will finalize the process in August when we change our car registration and drivers licenses.

Day 516
A relaxing day around the RV. And then Una cooked dinner for the family at Shannon's. It was yummy!

Days 514 & 515
Oops! I missed yesterday. It was a good day. We went to dinner with our daughter, Shannon, and her husband, Stephen, and her brother-in-law, Jason. Then we enjoyed a movie back at their house.
Today, we had a wonderful worship, followed by lunch with some of our church family. This evening we enjoyed some more fellowship and a devotion.
I would like to mention a sweet little angel who went to be with the Lord. Kaelyn "Toot" Weston is a grand-daughter of Una's best childhood friend. This was a sudden death. They still don't know what caused it. Please pray for this family.

Day 513
We had a good trip back from Red Bluff, stopping in Elk Grove for lunch with June, my stepmother. This evening we went to see our Ashley in Fiddler on the Roof and then took her to Cold Stone Creamery. It has been a very good day!

Day 512
Another relaxing day in Red Bluff. I was officially inducted into the Elks Lodge tonight. It was a good evening.

Day 509
We had a full day with Una going to a ladies study, while I got some breakfast at Panera Bread. Then we went to the movies...True Grit, a really good movie. Next, we visited with Harmon and Dawn, and then to the church building for Fun and Fellowship, a really good time with some of the older folks from church. We sold one of our old laptops on eBay and did a little shopping at Trader Joes. Like I said, a really full day. It's good to be so blessed!

Day 508
We had a good worship, followed by great fellowship with our Visalia church family. The remainder of the day has been spent taking care of business and relaxing.

Day 507
Had the monthly breakfast with our Tulare crew: Ben & Alice Bennett, along with Alice's brother, James; Darrel & Linnea Thompson, our daughter's in-laws; Harmon & Dawn Atwater, with two of their great-grandchildren, Samantha and Makayla. Following breakfast we picked up books from Sean & Heather Bothwell for our grandkids. And then, a special treat, we listened to a radio broadcast on Hometown Heroes -- an interview with our very special friend, Harmon Atwater. He is a true American hero who won a Silver Star at Normandy and a Purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge. You will be able to download this interview when they post it at kmjnow.com And now we are on our way to Chukchansi for a free Tower of Power concert. I am only posting one picture of Harmon & Dawn Atwater, who have been married for 68 years.

Days 499 - 502
Wedding Slideshow Well, I have neglected our blog for several days now. You cannot believe how busy we have been! We enjoyed a great shower, bachelor party, wedding ceremony, and reception. The blending of families came off without a hitch. We are extremely happy for our daughter and new son-in-law. Stephen is a real gentleman who honors our daughter, exalting her as a woman of value, loving her children as his own, and treating us like family. This is such a contrast to what we have been experiencing for many years. I am grateful for Shannon's first marriage because that union brought us two very wonderful grandchildren. However, I am even more thankful that she and the kids will now be under the guidance and protection of such a good, God-fearing, man. The slideshow has 304 pictures, but they are pretty great...enjoy!
